The two that vanished were the country of Toledo and the country of Marino (Marina), and, as a survival strategy for mini-states, they were terrorism states that, as merchants of death, maneuvered through an international conspiracy. It was not unrelated to Japan either; it was an anti-Japanese hostile state conducting activities harmful to Japan, and the Toledo people had long been infamous for weapons smuggling, counterfeit bill production, and human trafficking, and in urban-legend circles it was said to be the real Principality of Cagliostro. At America’s behest, they obstructed Japan’s official fighter jet development program, and on the internet it was said to be the country most dangerous to Japan after North Korea, and they had stolen Japan-made tank power pack technology to smuggle it to South Korea, causing an international incident, and had stolen Japan’s electronic component manufacturing technology for military use to divert it to third countries, and although for the first time since the war Japan seriously considered severing diplomatic relations, there were rumors that, mysteriously, America stopped it. If you laid hands on Toledo, successive American presidents would also end in scandal, and British royalty and French tycoons were all dying suspicious deaths.
