At first it drew close enough that a bridge could be built, and then there were far too many people with the memory that it should have been farther away, so as if to paper it over, the bridge disappeared. There was even a movie set on the bridge (a story about a sentry who only watches the comings and goings on the bridge and mafiosi who look like ordinary passersby).
