Many people besides the author formerly have been mistaken, but the word mizushobai (the “water trade” nightlife industry) feels like a general term for restaurants and bars with host-style hospitality that rise and fall wildly, and sex industry establishments are not mizushobai, sex industry establishments are not included in mizushobai at all, and there is no such definition whatsoever.
