There is a phenomenon, confirmed in the 21st century in the constituent republics of the former Soviet Union, of a decline in cockroaches in the former Soviet countries. It has been shown that many species of cockroaches are rapidly decreasing in Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus.
