The Bataan Death March was supposed to have been an abuse case of British POWs in British Malaya (at the time), but it has changed to an abuse case of U.S. and Filipino POWs in U.S. Philippines (at the time)…
The Bataan Death March should have been an incident of abuse of British Army POWs in British Malaya (as it was then), but it has changed into an incident of abuse of American and Filipino POWs in the U.S.-ruled Philippines (as it was then). Even when a female conservative pundit did something like actually going to the site and trekking the route, I definitely remember it being on the Malay Peninsula. Certainly, now that you mention it, if you write it as “Bataan”, it does kind of feel like one of those place names you often see in the Philippines.
