When the author was in elementary school (2005–2008), there was a “metal fragments in guardrails” incident, but I have absolutely no idea how it started, how it was hyped, how it concluded, or what on earth any of it was. As a memory of a similar story, I feel like there was also “marking with scuff marks on the inside of train doors.” (5) Various changes related to defense, the military, war history, terrorism, etc.
