Lately there have been a string of silly crimes and scandals and even heinous crimes by JSDF personnel, and in a similar vein, when I was in elementary school there was a period when there were lots of crimes by people who called themselves scaffolders (construction scaffolding workers). Back in elementary school there was a period when I would think, oh, again? I remember it being that way up through around the Athens Olympics. I don’t remember how it was around the Beijing Olympics. The JSDF scandals must be some similar kind of trend-of-the-times sort of thing. ○ The red and green used for the plus and minus on the Nikkei Average price display monitors have swapped places. Also, in the current timeline, it goes: yen-strong recession in 1987, the bubble economy starts in 1988, in January 1989 (Showa 64) Emperor Showa passes away, in April the consumption tax is introduced, in July the Socialist Party surges in the Upper House election, and in June 1991 the bubble economy officially ends, but in the original world there are claims that the first year of Heisei was 1990, or rather that Emperor Showa died in 1991 of pneumonia and the Showa era continued through year 65; that the consumption tax should have been introduced in April 1990 and should have started at 2%; that the bubble burst was in 1993; and so on.
